In today's fast-paced digital world, reaching voters quickly and effectively is crucial for any political campaign. SMS, and MMS texting provide a powerful way to connect with your audience, deliver your message, and drive engagement.
✔ SMS = This is a text without a graphic. You can have a link to your website or a link to your video, but NO graphic. The max number of characters is 306 and must include your disclaimer and “Reply stop to opt-out” wording.
✔ MMS = This is a text with a graphic up to 725KB in size OR a video, ideally less that 35 seconds long. You can have up to 2,000 characters (400-600 are best). If your message is too long, you run the risk of voters not taking the time to read the text. The text must include your disclaimer and “Reply stop to opt out” wording.
An easy way to count characters is just go to www.lettercount.com type in what you want to say. Then you can edit, copy, paste that information, and email to us with your cell number and we will send a test text to you so that you can see what it looks like before we send it out.
You can email us your list and we will run it through our system and let you know how many cell numbers and give you an exact cost. If you do not have a list of voters, let us know and one can be obtained for an additional cost.
Whatever people text back to us we capture that information, and you get back that information along with the opt-out requests that are automatically removed so they do not get anymore texts from you.
We can even do a TEXT SURVEY:
Hello, we are asking voters who they will vote for in the race for County Commission District 5. Joe Smith or Nancy Evans?
Reply 1 for Joe Smith
Reply 2 for Nancy Evans
Paid for by Friends of Joe Smith
Reply STOP to opt-out
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON TEXTING: Implementing 10DLC (10-digit long code) registration is a critical requirement for political campaigns that intend to use text messaging as a tool for outreach. Here’s what you need to know:
Purpose of 10DLC Registration: Mobile carriers now require campaigns to register with the Campaign Registry to verify their legitimacy. If your campaign is not registered, carriers will block your text messages. Registration can take 7–10 days, so it’s crucial to plan ahead and register early.
Let us know if you have any questions and we will walk you through the process.
